Messin' with your minds!

Sorry to try and foul things up here.
There may be a slight change in plans regaurding the trip that everyone (except Brew, nyah nyah) is planning to take to FUNgomery.
The Mullins clan has opted to stay with one of us here in town, which is absolutely fine.
Due to the amenities avaialable at the sippers (for not only guests, but also for babies) we have decided that the Sips will keep the Mulls and we will keep the Stubbs.

The Mulls keep Lairssa and I each and everytime we need to be put up when we pass through their neck of the woods, so I feel bad about this in a way. But I am almost certain they would be more comfortable with the Sips. Plus, we are like 30 minutes away from the Sips, so the Mulls are probably better being close to ground zero, since thats where the cookout of magnificent proportions will be held (of which I am looking forward to!)

I head out Wednesday afternoon to join my wife in Dallas! He sister will arrive soon there-after bringing her long-time boyfriend that none of us have met in person because he is "afraid" to meet her family members... probably because he has dated her for many years and dodges the marriage issue each time it is brought up... maybe he is afraid of a shotgun wedding. He is Armenian too, I don't know what that means though...

Oh, Stubbs, while there is not much to do at our house, there are some horse stables we walk to, so maybe we can pet horses or something.

Mulls, go on a walk with the Sippers through their neighborhood, there are some SWEET looking old homes in that area... but opt for the 2 mile walk rather than the 3 mile walk....

Bob's your uncle! OK, now that that's all squared away, we can move on to some more fun planning! Cookouts, karaoke, wild animals, playgrounds, walks, etc. are all on the menu for our time together. There is much fun to be had! Armenia is a country north of Iran and near Georgia and Azerbaijan...Armenians are usually pretty ethnically bound by tradition in worship, marriage, etc. They value their culture highly. Hope the boyfriend meeting goes well!

I think we tired Jamison out the other day on that walk. We have done a couple of walks close to 5 miles lately training for DW. I jog a couple of days a week, too. We just want to make sure we're up to all the walking around the parks. We want nothing to hinder our fun! But, yes, there are many pretty sights to see right in our neighborhood and practically everywhere you go, it is shady with all the old trees standing about. We'll take a nice leisurely stoll if y'all feel up to it! Of course, everyone is invited!

well actually....we have decided to stay in a hotel now. i got a good deal on a room on hotels.com, and no offense sip, but i'm actually afraid the dogs would aggrevate caleb's asthma. so everything's cool..everything's ok...we shall arrive on the 13th and leave sometime the 16th.

JS said...

well this stinks... but, the chucks have a dog too.

Jules, if yall MUST stay in a hotel, try the hotel chains actual website, ussually their 'web rate' is cheaper than any hotels.com rate...

and, where is the hotel? not a seedy part of town, right?

No offense taken, fair Julianna! I can understand the aversion to asthma aggravating agents. So, Stubbs, y'all are, as always, most welcome to stay with us, once again! You'll have your room, bathroom, etc. We'll have a good ole time and enjoy the company all around!

its at the best western on monticello....i can always cancel it if it's not a good one...and it was only 59.00 a nite...let me know if its an okay hotel...

Well, there's a blast from the past. We used to live on Monticello (Brew, Jamison, and I). It's not great, but not the absolute worst place to stay. It is right off the bypass and very close to the interstate. So, it's in a central location. Jamison might have more to say about it, but it seems OK to me.

My two cents worth is about what a fine friend Jamison is. We’ve only put the guy up like a hundred times on him many journeys across the states and the one time we try and call on the guy we get the door slammed in our face.

KIDDING!!!

A hotel is always going to be better for us because we’re at the respective ages where a private room is preferred. I hate “Shhhing” guests at home and I hate feeling like I’m imposing when a kid gets cranky. I know the Sipps and Chucks are hip to the fussy baby thing but I hate subjecting childless folks to our world no matter how comfortable they are with the random balling of a kid because they’ve realized how much the idea of giving a toy back will actually harm them. Isaac and Caleb keep somewhat later hours and will be able to handle a party until the wee hours of the morning, just like their old man. Isaac loves being in his underwear and if he feels too comfortable in an actual home then there is a chance he’ll want to show everybody his “tushy crack”. This is an experience that’s very funny but not for the faith at heart. Plus at the end of the day being in a hotel will be a reward for Isaac being on his somewhat best behavior. This weekend Isaac loved jumping from bed to bed until he finally got the chance to show off for his “Gran” and “Pappa” and misjudged the landing bed, crashing into the wall and bouncing off the edge and landing on the floor. He cried for a minute because it scared him but after some time to calm down I congratulated him on a spectacular crash!
Beyond anything else we just want the chance to see you yahoo's.
Also I told Brew that if he can make it to Knoxville, we'll take him the rest of the way.

the best western at monticello is fine, it is relatively new (less than 10 years old) and it is next to the familiar motel 6...

It is right next to the interstate (which, from there, is about 10 minutes at most to sippers house) and across the street from the new Sams, and a host of resturants.

The part of town it is in is a fine part. I can only imagine that you MIGHT get the occational faker who pretend he nees 8 or 12 dollars to get to the hospital or to call a cab. He will give you a sap story, and hope you are scared of him so much that youll actually give it to him (like most white folks do when a strange black man approaches them). But then again, I got one of those at the la quinta in myrtle beach which was in a good part of town too... and he was white.

Jules, try going to best westerns site and see if you can get it cheaper... just to look...

Mullins...Just want to let y'all know that y'all are ALWAYS welcome to stay with us. I understand the pet hair/dander thing with asthma. Rachel even has some trouble with it with her asthma ocassionally. I just feel so inadvertently inhospitable when there are friends in the area and they don't stay with us. I suppose we will just have to be extra hospitable while y'all are all over visiting! Can't wait to see everyone! It's gonna be a good visit!

well, i checked the bw site and the room that i reserved on hotels.com is the exact same price as the room on bw site. so that's good. its a room with 2 queen beds and a fridge, which is important for apple juice storage and the like. and matt's right..our kids do tend to keep later hours than some, going to bed around 9"30 or so...i know it's kinda late, but it works and they get enough sleep so they will be fine for the cookout..

bigsip said...

Sounds like y'all are set! I'm glad Jamison agreed that area was good. I thought so, too, but I'd trust his assessment more. Jamison's way more paranoid, er, I mean, er safety-minded than I am. It's also very close to us and all the cool attractions, so we'll all be able to gather more easily and stuff.

JS said...

Paranoid is right...
No shame either... I mean, if you had a world organization, soley established to monitor your every move and bent on your destruction, you'd be paranoid too, right?

Yesterday, I went outside to check my mail, and a guy was working ona roof in the neighborhood, and he called me a paranoid freak!.... in Morris code!!!!

bigsip said...

That's the code Dr. Morris (short English professor at Faulkner) developed...Dr. Morris apparently has been spreading this code around to the homebuilders in the Montgomery area...They're after you, man!

JS said...

Morse code... sorry

bigsip said...

I like the idea of Morris code better, though. Dr. Morris should be famous for something. I really like that guy. He's a smarty!

bigsip said...

The code would use long pauses and flamboyant gesturing to make complicated sentences.

JS said...

...and involving a joke that is dry and he laughs, one other person laughs, and the rest of the class stares at him in bewilderment.

bigsip said...

so funny, so true...crumpets...um.....anyone?

tnmommieof2 said...

hey call me crazy but i'm paranoid as well. matt says he has spoiled me by taking me to GPI and the Opryland hotel, but i don't want to stay in a roach coach or anything!!!

JS said...

You arent paranoid, you have just been introduced to the finer side of life, and from there it is hard to go back.

When Josh says I am paranoid it is because when we go out of town, I set light timers in two rooms, to mimic "movement" from one room to another and I have 2 TVs on timers, to mimic two people watching tv, in different rooms, at different times...

I also have a robotic arm that opens the refriderator at 8:53pm every night, until about 9:05pm. It opens it for about 10 seconds at a time, then keeps it closed for about 1 minute.

Kidding... about the light timers... Ha! No, just kidding about the robot.

Funny thing, I dont live in fear, as some of you might think. And it isn't something I dread on at all times of the day. It is just like, natural for me to take precautions and I dont even take a second thought of it. (This from the man who walked shiortless with Brew through the cemetary, went tunneling in Montgomery sewers, and lived at Monticello apartments behind the abortion clinic...)

bigsip said...

It's true...he doesn't live in fear. I actually take and use pretty much all of Jamison's security advice. You should be a security consultant or something, man! Being prepared and proactive are good things, my friend. BTW, be safe on your Dallas trip! You're leaving today, right?

JS said...

leaving today, and being a security dude would be an enjoyable job for me, but ya gotta be a cop first to get in good in that biz...

bigsip said...

True...or in the military. I actually looked at several security-type positions before I got this job. Never really considered any of them seriously, though. Not really up my alley, but very appealing in many ways.

It's been my experience that the things to be afraid most of are the things you can't prepare for...

I guess we're back with the Sippers now. It's not Jamison, we just know it's less of an inconvience for them.. We love you! And easier to find...lol.

JS said...

im with you. id opt to stay with them as well. The cook most every night ;)

Come, stay, eat, sleep...etc.
