WARNING! SPOILER! (not really, read on)

Something Brewster pointed out to me in another post in his friendly neighborhood Brewster way (love you Brew) was that spoilers are bad and I shouldn't spoil things for others. He is absolutely right. I apologize if I have spoiled anything for anyone. I got to thinking about it and realized how utterly pissed I'd be if someone totally spoiled any of my books (insert shameless plug for Runaway Swimmer). I mean, you're not only dealing with someone's intellectual property when you spoil something, you're also screwing with other peoples' intellectual sensibilities. So, I henceforth will try much harder to be a non-spoiler for movies, books, and the American way. Thus saith the Sip.

what did you spoil?

I hate spoilers, unless they are for movies AND ive read the book that movie is based on...

I said what I thought about The Village. I guess I said too much. Sorry...

Ah, its really ok Sipper. I have seen the Village so you didn't spoil anything for me. I just get a little anal about these things because I hate to know anything about a movie, especially the ending. It makes it more enjoyable to me.

Just keep it in mind for the future. A simple spoiler warning suffices.

Cool, Brew. I just want to live peacably with my friends and be nice. Plus, I really do see the point. I still don't mind spoilers, but if it were my book or something like that, I'd be upset.

I don't care if people spoil things for me, so if you ever feel the need, Sip, just call me up and tell me the plot lines of everything you've ever seen. When Charlie saw the Villiage he explained the whole thing to me. I dunno. I guess there aren't any movies out there I'm jazzed enough about to not want to know the ending yet.

That's EXACTLY the way I feel, Di. I'm just not that into movies, TV, and stuff like that. I don't even mind knowing book plots! To me, it's more about being taught than entertained. When it's an action flick, it's purely eye-candy, and that's fun! But, overall I want to learn. I think that's why I like the Discovery channel, TLC, HGTV, etc. so much. I love ideas!

Yeah. The only TV I watch is Golden Girls/Full house reruns and Discovery health Channel... What's someone gonna say to ruin it for me? OPe, that lady's gonna have a baby.... Movies, eh, I could care less. I like movies just not in a freaked out kind of way. I dont read a lot.... I love music, but there aren't many spoilers in the world of music.... Dude, you will not be expectin Track 3!!!!! Whatever.

LOL! I hear you girl. I do read a lot. But, again, I'm not turned-off by spoilers. I know the end of most of the Harry Potter books, but I still want to read them all! I know how most of Shakespeare's plays turn out, but I enjoy reading them, too. It's all in the learning and nuances for me.

To me the whole spoiling thing isn't so much about giving away a trick ending, but giving away too much plot detail.

I try to avoid any information about a movie/book that I plan to consume. I want to watch a movie/read a book knowing as little as possible. That way I can allow it to unfold as it comes. I want to experience the entire thing in the manner it was intended to be experienced.

I watched Million Dollar Baby on the plane, and I actually did know the big ending to it. THe entire time I'm watching the film my mind is partially on that ending. It made me watch the character in a different light knowing what would happen to her. It would have been a better experience to me, not knowing.

Although I also appreciate the learning experiences as well. Movies are art to me and they can teach much about life and the craft of telling a story. This is also why I like to watch really good movies again.
