Idea that hit me in a bolt-of-lightning-esque fashion

Okay, so we got the greatest of friends coming to visit for a few days in mid-August right?
Okay, well, I was made hip to a resturant in town that I had never heard of before, partially because it was new, but also partially because it is only visited by maybe 8% white people, and 91% Korean folks.
There is an authentic Korean resturant in Montgomery that basically caters to the Hyundai employees. I am certain that it is capitalizing on that fact. I went once and they have the oddest food I have ever seen. BUT, what caught my eye, was a KAROKE room that groups can rent for like $20 an hour (or was it per half hour? cant remember...) Anyway, it is a sepearte room that NO ONE could be in excpet us!

And one of the coolest things I saw in there were tables for 6 that had grills in the middle! And I guess they bring you food and you grill it yourself at your table...

anyway, if it sounds fun and interesting, some of us locals can scout it out first...

I say yes to kareoke!!!! And it probably has some food that is suitable for Jodi/Charlie/MSG allergic Rach, so not to fret!!!

I love Korean food! It's yummy. I'm sort of the opposite on karaoke. I don't really like karaoke that much. Where is this place anyway? Sounds like it could be fun to watch all you guys murder some songs.

it is actually next to that theatre you went to...

but if no one is gonna sing, then lets not do it... party poopers.. lol

I LOVE KAREOKE!!! i'm all in for that..and you could see the amazing dance stylings of the mullins children while we were there.

Can we still cook out at our place? Mr. Mullins just emailed that he'd like to do that, and we'd still love for everyone to come over and party! We could either jam after that or go to the karaoke thing.

I say that we cook out and then if those who feel up to it want to go sing we do that too!

I'm all for some Korean dessert (if there is such a thing) and karaoke! I think once Josh gets in his friends-mode and loosens up, he'll have fun with the karaoke. Hello? You love to sing!

oh heck, i am 100% PRO cookout, jam, and mingle at the Sippers house... i was just saying, if we had another free night, with nothing to do, this would be a suggestion...

Coolio either way, mi amigos. We'll all ust roll with the cookout and see where it goes from there!

So, I'm wondering who has actually done karaoke before? I've seen it, but have never been up there singing.

It sure would be fun to watch a bunch of Koreans trying to do karaoke! We had a bunch of S. Korean exchange students come to my art school. At this picnic we discovered that they do not have any concept of a Frisbee. They tried to throw it like a ball. It was hilarious! They had fun learning. But I'm sure there are some things we Americans could do pretty foolishly over in their neck of the woods, too.

Ill be honest...
I did it one time in a bar in a bowling alley...
It was very fun, despite it looking stupid...

i've done it several times. i love it. it's really fun. one of the places in knoxville is doing a contest for the next few weeks that is sponsored by the biggest country radio station in town, WIVK. the winners from each week will move to the finals where they will sing in front of a record exec. from nashville. and the winning tape will be sent to nashville and "won't be ignored" to quote the promotion on the radio. so who knows...i think my friend and i are gonna go next week. and if i win...yall might see my name in lights!!!

so i guess i'm saying if the place is kid friendly, which it would be if we have a room all to ourselves, then i'm all in!

Sounds like fun! We'll eat American and sing Korean, er something like that. Ahn yo ha sayo!

I've done it! I've always wanted ot see Charlie do it because he's all talk and is always saying he's going to rock out to No Doubt but he never has. I think in front of y'all he'll loosen up. This could be our Monday night for Josh bash...

I wouldn't mind it being Monday except the Mullins wouldn't be there and I know Julianna would hate to miss it. But, I'm cool with doing it or not, either way. I just want to get together and have some fun with all our friends!
