So...

I just applied for a job here. If it works out me and the family will ship out for my old stomping grounds. The problem will be that we'll need people to come visit. Any takers?

Ok so linking crap is pretty easy when you do it from the big brown page. I've always posted directly off the main page which pops up the smaller posting box and doesn't have the linking option.
Thanks dudes (Sipper).

No prob, man. Are you seriously considering moving to HI?!?!?! If you pay for the plane tix, we're there! J/K...I think we could afford the tix if you could put us up. Just be advised that the cost of living there is HIGH!

With what company are you seeking employment? Which island would y'all live on? Not to discourage, but I have known many people who have lived in HI/grown up there, and they couldn't wait to leave. It's small, expensive, and restrictive if you like to travel. But, if you like the ocean and the climate, I suppose that makes up for it! I'd love to visit, but I would never want to live there.

Honolulu on Oahu, the main island. There is a writing, producing, directing job making commercials at a local station and I figured that it couldn't hurt to check it out. At Scripps for as decent as it really is you're still considered an idiot until someone else wants you and you leave. If you decide to come back the ground you walk is worshiped. I lived on Oahu as a kid and I have fond memories of the place still. I’m not saying that we’d stay there for ever but a couple of years could be fun and enriching to the boys much as it was to me. The costs are a bit high but the pay scale for me to really consider moving my beautiful family would have to cover a lot. As far as travel goes flights to Japan are dirt cheap along with the other Polynesian Islands. Flights to the main land are running at $190 ish to S. California. I gotta tell you, I love the ocean and I love the island climate. For me those two things are worth it!

i would visit you often and quickly (assuming jet fule prices come down)

Cool...I'm with you on those things, sir. HI has the nice climate and atmosphere. Checking other places would be cool, too if you have the means. I think we'd like to come out there if y'all go. Bet the boys would love it...how's Julianna feel? She likes the beach, right?

more importantly, how to the grandparents of your children feel?

thatll be the clincher

My folks have often thought about moving to Hawaii. Aparently the building houses market is huge over there. But the cost of living is very high so they say.

But dude, go so we can party on the beach.

What an adventure. I want to go to HI so badly. Two of my favorite movies are set there...... (Any guesses?)

bigsip said...

ummmm, Lilo and Stitch and Pearl Harbor...

Mat Brewster said...

If Sippers movie list is true, Diana, I disown you.

Pearl Harbor was a worthless pile of dog dung.

bigsip said...

those were just guesses...i have no idea...i agree that PH sucked, though. L&S was ok, but not great.

JS said...

pearl harbor was given to me as a gift from our neighbors. we watched it, and i HATED it. We keep it hidden, literally, in our home. The only reason I dont trash it is in case they come over and ask where it is...

it was cheesy as ever.

im hoping her other movie is something else...

bigsip said...

Di is gonna be afraid to tell us her movie likes and dislikes from now on...of course, she hasn't confirmed my guesses yet, anyway. Y'all haven't guessed yet, guys! It could be My Blue Hawaii and some other movie for all we know...

Ha ha. Di, like whatever movie you like. But know we reserve the right to make fun of you, and rail against any movie. It won't be personal, we love you, but some of us get a little crazy when it comes to film.

It's like how Sipper hates the Beatles, and everyone knows they are the greatest band to ever live.

Mat Brewster said...

Pearl Harbor was an awful awful mess. It is an indignity to the poor people who died there. To this day my mother and I have passionate arguments over that film.

She liked it and tells me it was just a movie. I hate it and think it is a blight on humanity.

bigsip said...

a blight on humanity....do you mean a blight like the beatles? raise them hackles, folks!

Close, Josh. Lilo and Stitch and 50 First Dates. I cried all the way home after seeing that.

bigsip said...

yeah...50 FD was pretty good...entertaining.

JS said...

THANK THE LORD!
50 was good... not the best chick flick ive seen, but good. I guess my fave chick flick would have to be (and it didnt do very well at all) "Kate and Leopold"

Um, what happened to Mullins? Ground Control to Major Matt!

jules likes the beach....but mdh would have to get a MAJOR and i mean MAJOR pay raise for me to agree to going there. my mom is my best friend and i just can't see living that far away from her. and another thing is i really like the change of seasons here in east tn. and there's the little thing called a hurricane....they tend to like places near the ocean...i don't know..might be an adventure for a while...but i wouldn't want to stay....

JS said...

HI would prob be safe from hurricanes, but not volcanos!

mdh = my dear husband.

of all the people i know, mullins would fit right into the HI society.

I love other languages and our waiter at the california grill in disney world was from there and he was teaching me hawaiian phrases when i told him how much i love the dog.

If you dont move there, lets do a trip out there. I gotta meet da dog.

You you had a room for us to stay in, we would visit at least once. We might not bring Alexandra, but the visit would be a definite.
