The Tower Quail

Hey guys! I already posted this to my own blog, but figured I would post here, too. Just some info on the book I am editing at the moment.

-Sip

Alright, here it is...The Tower Quail is the story of a young girl who is suddenly given an ability to foretell the future. The ability is imposed upon her after she goes through a "time-bounce" and unconsciously absorbs information from her future. She is then tortured by the images and events she cannot understand or stop from happening. Her mind and emotions begin to deteriorate and she is ultimately led back to the Tower from which her time-bounce initially began only to discover that she was subjected to the suffering and torment of her mind for a higher purpose.

is this in anyway historical fiction based on your family or completely form the wonderful mind of sci-fi-sipper?

sounds cool!

It is a completely new idea from your's truly! I came up with this really cool, new idea of time travel called the "time bounce". I won't go into too much detail here, but it has to do with transforming matter to energy, biorhythms, alternate/infinite realities, and the capacity of the human mind. Once I get the whole work typed up and edited, I will give more info out. Just don't want to let too many folks outside our group in on the deal until I get closer to the final product!

gooood idea...

have you consulted the help of any quantum mechanics around town for research?

This is all derived from my encyclopedic knowledge of Star Trek. You see, you have to angle the neutrino deflector array to accept phase variations from the extra-linear warp ionization field before muon saturation occurs. Get me? J/K! I have read books about time travel, quantum physics, and theories on space and time travel. I have also read and studied about the human mind and watched my share of sci-fi. It all comes together in a fairly compelling way!

beleive it or not, i have an uncle who teaches this kind of stuff in nashville... we were eating at a resturant before a wedding with a bunch of family members and on a napkin he showed me how time travel is actually impossible... the diagram involved a very tall arch... but that was years ago, maybe he figur.ed out how to break the arch.... !!! BREAKING THE ARCH! Great sci-fi book title!!! You can have it if you liek sip, for the sequel...

AWESOME! Yeah, I have seen that explanation, too. This sounds terrible, but I don't believe time travel is possible either. However, it makes for an interesting story and this story has elements of the Divine in it as well. I don't believe in modern day miracles either, but again, anything is possible with God and it makes for an interesting story. The way that most folks get past the time travel thing (and what I am using as well) is quantum theory and the hypothesis of "infinite realities". It's sort of like those books or video games we had as kids where you take different paths and they lead you into different possibilities. Only, in this case, the possibilities are infinite and you can pass between them by becoming pure energy and being transported to a dimension that is a possibility of another time and/or place. There's quite a bit to it, and I don't really buy into all of it, but it is interesting!
