BumStats
I came up with a new way to do statistics the other day while driving down the road. I call it BumStats since you just pull the stats out of your butt. For instance, if you are driving down the road and decide you want to see how many people driving on the road talk on the cell phone while driving (a deplorable activity in my opinion) all you do is look at the first 10 cars you encounter and if 10 out of 10 people talk on the cell phone while driving, so do you (even if you really don't). It's sort of an absurd and fun way to pass the time while driving. Do any of you have BumStats?

yes, and montgomery has a population of 80% blacks 19% whites, and 1% 'other'
not so scientific... but fun i suppose....
HAHA! There you go! BumStats, baby! Yes, completely outside the realm of true stats, but I enjoy it more than the "ABC Game" when on road trips.
It also means that since I have never seen a crime commited in Montgomery then this is a crime free city...
Next time, take a poll of the first 10 cars you see with kids under 3 years old, see how many are in car seats... you may be shocked.
Yeah, I know. Did you ever see that report on the woman in Podunkville, TX who was caught without her kid in a carseat? It was a little baby, and the judge who tried her case decided her punishment would be to do community service and to write her baby girl's eulogy. A fitting punishment, I think. Folks who don't buckle the kids in should be nailed more often!
funny how most parents with kids not in the car seats also happen to have a cell phone glued to their ears while driving...
Yep, and I don't think that is a BumStat. When parents form obvious neglect habits, they manifest themselves in many forms...cell phone overuse, not buckling the kids, not feeding the kids, not teaching the kids, etc. It's a pattern of bad parenting.
This is about as lame as Jamisons 50/50 theory. No offense to Sip, because I'm sure its actually fun, if rather useless.

LOL...yeah, the lameness is the point. It's just about as absurd as most USA Today polls and the polls that CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc. run. I figure I might as well have some stats that are half as stupid.
