Little alien who had his own TV show...I know, you've been trying to forget since the late 80s...
Anyway, on his home planet of Melmac, they actually worshipped Don Knotts as a god.
Always thought that was amusing. Sort of a reflection of the French adoration of Jerry Lewis or something.
I do remember ALF, remember LOVING that show, and now cant imagine how any TV executive let it pass...
Right up there with "Small Wonder".

I look back at it now and wonder how it lasted as long as it did, though.
Not as bad as Manimal, though...
Why does the mention of "Manimal" ALWAYS make me laugh...? It may be the image of a beaver chewing on wood flashed back and forth with the image of a man that does it...
It was a little cheesy, too...
I loved it when I was a kid, though!

Don was a fine actor, Apple Dumpling Gang, The Detectives, not to mention Three’s Company. He had a double take that was second to none.
A touching note... Andy Griffith was at his side on his deathbed...
I'd heard that, too. I think it's a fitting end to their personal and professional relationship.
