Unemployed

I will be out of a job again next week. The guy who I was replacing (and who everbody told me would never come back) is coming back on Monday. I am supposed to train him on the new stuff I've been doing and then hit the road. I'm guessing this will take two days.

The nice thing is that they are going to pay me for two weeks of work, regardless of how long the training takes.

My wife will be out of work in a couple of weeks too. The semester ends, and she cannot renew the contract.

We've gotten no word from the Chinese department.

My father-in-law has not yet found a job. They have to leave their house by the end of the month. Unless something happens fast, they will have to find a storage bin for all of their stuff and move in with some relatives in Nashville, TN.

I think I am cursed. Everyone near me seems to be losing their jobs, and finding no prospect of getting a replacement.

Strangely, I feel pretty good about it all, and my faith is stronger than it has been in a long while.

That stinks. I just said a prayer for you, Brew.

(shifting in my seat uncomfortably) So, um, Brew... could you maybe, perhaps, if you don't mind, move to another table? What? No, no, no! See, I have a bad cold, with herpies... dangerously contagious, and I dont want you to get it... yes... littler further, further... ya know what, just leave the room, yeah! Thats good, walk aout side ... very good, no thats fine (Locking the door).

Kidding of course, I shall pray for thee and thou's. You could always move back in with Mullins...

Thanks Rachel. I'm trying to stay positve and have faith.

Jamison you probably should stay away. I mean, if you count josh losing his job for a bit that's three people close to me that have been laid off during my "troubles"

I have mixed emotions about this comment. Thanks to the new e-mail feed, I'm back in the loop. But, this is the first blog posted since I signed up. Dude, that's aweful, but I'm glad I know. Literally, after I read it I could think of nothing but looking for you or Amy for a job near me, unfortunately I didn't see anything in the short amount of time I had to look. How, can I help?...seriously, please let me know if you get in a bind.

You guys should come to the ATL. There are tons of opportunities here. Praying for you...

Good ole Chuck coming out of nowhere with the servant attitude... I always liked that guy.

ATL? Yeah, lots of job opportunities, if you like leaving your house 2 hours early to deal with the traffic... I just realized last night, that due to the traffic I deal with each time I pass through that city, I haven't "stopped" or "toured" Atlanta for any reason in the past 8 or 9 years. Sad cuz I liked the Coke museum and would like to see that Aquarium.

Chuck, I hope Brew helped you with the admin issues on the blog. I am of no use in that dept.

This isn't totally true JB. Actually there are plenty of growing areas to live and work with little drive time. Worth checking out - something for everyone!

Brew all I can say is that you have some serious adventures in front of you.

I don’t know if there is anything anyone of us can say to you to help build your spirits up but prayers will be said so I hope that helps.

I don’t think Indiana likes the Brewster’s and their clan. I know that you and the wife like the area but you guys seem to be hitting walls every several months. You’re in a college town where there are tons of new people working for less than what you need. There aren’t a lot of higher educational situations and little to offer you guys beyond employment; maybe it’s time to get the hell outta Dodge.

If you and the wife needed a place to stay for a while consider my home yours. It will be cramp but we’re actually in a perfect position to section off a bit of the homestead for some friends.

June 9 -16 we will be outta town for a week consider the place yours if you want to job hunt without any hindrance or kids around. Honestly if you want to come before then please do. I am 100% serious, eat all the food you want, turn on the A/C have a run of the place, find some leads, or just get away to the metropolis of Oak Ridge.

We’ll even wash the sheets.

Have you ever thought of PR or something along those lines?

You guys are definitely in our prayers. Send one up for me that I find a job as well. Being a college graduate (ah, thank you) does no good if I can’t find a teaching job.

I have wanted to go to the coke museum again but I heard it closed. I was traumatized.

Everyone should plan a trip to the beach next year when the Hard Rock Park is open. It's the first rock 'n' roll based amusement park ever. It’ll probably be Six Flags sized. Oh, and you'll have a cute baby to come see.
