My First Article!!!

My dear wife called a moment ago and informed me that Dr. Donnie Hilliard, Director of the Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths, had called asking for a picture to accompany an article I had submitted to Our Families Magazine.

Yea verily, I'm being published!!!

The article is titled "Staying Married: Advice from a Short-time" and will be in the Spring/Summer 2006 issue of the magazine! This is a great step for me. I can now list that I'm published in query letters, resumes, and on applications of all sorts! So, I'm happy...

That’s Martel Pace and his bride on the old issue cover.

On a side not, I also found out I'll be teaching an English course in the fall at Faulkner! More excitement to come!

Woohoo!

I was gonna mention it last night, but I didn't want to reiterate if you had already seen it here.

I think Mullins is next, followed closely by Chuck. Then, you're up!

Charlie will come in last, as usual...

Where is he?

Joking, btw...Charlie will probably surprise us all!

Excellent!

Before the adulation of your step closer to the writing work I have to say that I always perfered to consider Martel Pace as asexual. He was always like the good doppelganger of Montgomery Burns and the thought of him shagging, I’m going to stop right there.

So, Sipper, way to go… What are the publication numbers of this zine? It’s always nice to polish the resume just that much more.

I appreciate the well wishes and considering that I’ve got no less than 12 irons in the fire one of them is bound to get hot enough to strike sooner or later.

They only publish the mag twice a year and it has a somewhat limited circulation, but I'm certain it hits thousands of homes and churches.

What I love is that they chose my article over many more. They have limited space and can only take so much, so I'm proud they accepted me over other folks.

My plan now is to write some more articles and submit to other mags. I can build clips and maybe even go freelance eventually!

But, for now, I'm just happy to be able to say, "Yo, I'm published!"

Charlie's already famous. He just hasn't told you guys yet. Oops! I wasn't supposed to tell you.

That's cool, it ought to be an action packed issue. Will's picture will be in that issue along with a recipe by my Moms. I'll look forward to reading the article by Sip!

Hey Sip, maybe I can put in a good word for you. I've been in Sports Illustrated you know. Oh yeah, I have the issue here at the house. Maybe we can tie in marriage & book writing with the NBA finals.

Thanks, guys!

I think I'll try to write some secular articles, too.

I just need some good topics that interest me...
