What "gay" is that the news causes the crowd to errupt in joyous applause. You would think that by this time, people would have become to "Who cares?" about gayness. I mean, it is shoved in our face left and right, and even I have become bored and calloused to such news.
Even if it were surprising, I still can;t figure out the crowd cheering this. I mean, are they ALL gay? do they root for gay people in fiction? Are the stories better now that he is gay? Did Rowling show great bravery in making this statement in 2007?Makes no sense.

But, what does make sense is why Dumbledore liked to see Harry Potter in his office so much... a scared, vulnerable child who has had a hard, loveless life that needed comfort... and no parents to run and tell on him when he touches Harry :)

I heard this crap this morning and I think it's stupid.

Honestly I think it's a bit cowardly, the woman had the whole story planned for over a decade and months after the final book is released now she tells the world AD is gay, there's no media backlash now, no preconceived notions of the old fart and the young kid alone together.

She's run and won the race and now has somethign to add to the story.

Stupid if you ask me.

you could look at it from this angle:
She has nothing left to say, no stories brewing, and her last book is not even talked about anymore.

She had to say SOMETHING to stay fresh and be in the media

i thought about that too, everything she ever does will be set against the LOTR of the new century.

As far as movies go they are pretty good and again the next generation will look to those rather than Star Wars. I gotta tell you that I am pretty much ready to cash my star wars chip in for Potter anyway.
