Well, I did it. After years of pleading and waiting for the kids to be old enough, I was able to wear Matt down....we got a dog!! It was Valentines' day and he had already been the good husband and brought me flowers and candy to work...I know, pretty typical presents, but I'm a sucker for tradition.

He calls me on his way home and tells me to expect one more gift. When he got there, he walks into the living room with a copy paper box in his hands. "Sorry hunny, I had to bring some work home." Ok, I think, that's odd..he doesn't usually do that.. He places the box on the floor and Isaac runs up to it and takes the lid off...There to my suprise is a little black furball...I was soo
excited!!! Actually dumbfounded is a better word for it...Matt said that it was only timing that caused us to get the dog. Someone he works with was in the parking lot selling these dogs, who came from an accidental litter. His registered black lab got jiggy with his Chesapeake retriver. So Matt caved...


We named him Banjo, and he's doing great!! He was 6 weeks old when we got him, and has already outgrown the collar we bought. We are crate training him, which seems to be working out just fine. The accidents have been few and far between, and really easy to clean up since we have laminate flooring downstairs.

The boys are doing good with him. Isaac is warming up quite well, although he still thinks that when Banjo nips at him, he's being mean. We've tried to explain to him that is how puppies play, but I don't think he's gotten the concept yet. Caleb is mostly oblivious to the dog, unless he takes one of his toys away from him. So I guess we are the pefect nuclear family now!!

Movin' on up

Hey guys! Just wanted to sing my praises for a bit...as of October 1st, I'm the new head teller at the bank. It comes with a raise and a lot more responsibility. But I think I can handle it. I will be the other tellers' direct supervisor, be responsible for all the money in the entire bank, do cash shipments, and anything else that comes along. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that I have never been in a supervisory position before and I hope I won't be too soft. The tellers are my friends, and I hope they will respect me enough to know when I tell them to do something I'm not picking on them or being mean.

I think it will work out just fine, but just keep me in your thoughts as I make this transition to alot more work and a little more money.

spanglish

just a note about a great movie matt and i watched the other nite. "spanglish" proves that adam sandler can go beyond "little nicky" and "the waterboy" you all need to check this one out if you haven't seen it. all i can say about it is he (adam sandler's character) does the right thing. watch and find out what it is.

Like Father, Like Son

well, it has begun. my firstborn child is following in his dad's footsteps. now you must realize that he already says "hubba hubba" whenever he sees a pretty girl, matt taught him this. but yesterday was the kicker. as you know he just started preschool and is apparently fitting in just fine. when i went to pick him up his class was outside playing. i was signing him out and he runs up to me and says "mommie i have a girlfriend!!" and i am thinking, "oh boy..here we go..." he tries to point her out to me and i tell him i see her. i start to walk to the car and he says "nooo, i want you to come meet her!!" i told him i would meet her some other time because we were in a hurry, but he is insistent that i go and see her. sooo..i walk over to where the kids are playing and the teacher asks me if something is wrong, while at the same time the cutest little girl comes running over to isaac and says "hey buddy!"
i told his teacher that nothing was wrong, i just couldn't leave until i until i met his girlfriend. of course this gets a huge laugh. so we were then able to leave because i had met her.

i should of known he would start this early....i mean look at what a cassanova his dad was(is)!!!

You've got to really like cotton candy...

so the bank where i work had a booth at the anderson county fair a few weeks back. my friend kristina and i worked it the last nite, which was a saturday. after we finished handing out snowcones to the massive crowds of white trash and rednecks, we decided we were hungry. she and i wanted some cotton candy real bad and she also wanted to take some home to her mom. we walked up to where the guy was selling it, and he told us and the gal in front of us that it would be a few ninutes before it was ready. we decided to wait, thinking about how wonderful the spun sugar would taste. a minute or two passes, and it is ready. he puts his hand (no gloves or stick) directly into the candy and spins it up into a ball. he places it in a plastic bag and hands it to the girl in front of us. as our mouths are watering in anticipation for the stuff, he proceeds to glance at his hands, realize they are sticky, AND PUTS HIS FINGERS IN HIS MOUTH AND LICKS THE COTTON CANDY OFF OF THEM!!!!! i looked at kristina in disbelief, wondering if she has seen this, and she has..so we say to one another, "let's see if he washes his hands, or at least uses hand sanitizer..and of course he didn't. so needless to say we didn't have any cotton candy, but it was ok with us!! i thought later i should of said something to him because there were folks behind us but i didn't. hope he wasn't sick!!!

Question for the Montgomery locals...

Hey guys! I was trying to think of some things that Matt and I could take Isaac to do while we are there and I came across Fort Toulouse. Is that something he might enjoy? And how's the zoo in Montgomery? We may try to do a family thing one day for a few hours so any suggestions would be welcome!!!

hello all

hey guys! i hope everyone is well. things here are oke-doke. had a good 4th. the bank where i work puts on a huge cookout for the customers and community, so i was working pretty much all day. we went thru 800 hotdogs and about a million snow cones!!! but it was great fun. caleb is much better. this asthma thing is a bear to deal with. i so hope he grows out of it. welp, better get some work done.
